Study & Intern Program

Study and Intern Okinawa is the only program in Japan which combines language instruction, internship, & sightseeing all in one!!! The standard program length is four weeks, however, the program can be tailored to individuals and groups starting from two weeks up to three months (inquire for group rates). Our programs start at the beginning of each month. Our programs are much cheaper than similar programs on mainland Japan. Our four week program costs between ¥270,000 Japanese yen to ¥320,000 Japanese yen (depending on program chosen).

Japanese language and part-time internship

  The below information is for our 4 week language program:

  • An orientation packet and informational session
  • A Japanese language placement exam
  • 70 hours of classroom language instruction (including breaks)
  • Textbooks
  • Housing (see below)
  • Meals: Lunch is provided Monday to Friday
  • 4 cultural activities
  • 2 sightseeing tours (Southern, Central, or Northern Okinawa)
  • Ground Transportation (airport pick-up/drop-off, cultural activities, and field trips)
  • The ONLY programs that provides you with a mobile phone!
  • Personal assistance will be available 24 hours a day during the entire duration of the program
  • A certificate of completion

  Housing Options:

Basic shared housing with a fully functional kitchen or medium to high-end private housing

* A private room in a Japanese style apartment, guest house, hotel dorm, or homestay (depending on program chosen).



* For an additional ¥75,000 Japanese yen to ¥100,000 Japanese yen you can get medium to high-end private housing.

(1) Companies - Duty Free Galleria-Okinawa & I Okinawa Company (a souvenir company)
(2) Education (teaching assistant at an elementary school, junior college, international school, or private language school - depends on availability) (3) Food Service (Restaurant/cafes)
(4) Hotels (ANA Intercontinental Manza Beach Resort, Kafuu Resort Fuchaku, Kanucha Resort,
Kariyushi hotels, Laguna Garden, The Beach Tower Okinawa, Tokyo Dai-Ichi, YYY Club Ie Resort, etc.)
(5) Sports (Karate, Scuba diving shop & FC Ryukyu - professional soccer team)

  Important Notes:

  • Okinawa is less crowded, less expensive, and much more relaxed than mainland Japan and is one of the most beautiful & safest places in the world!
  • We do not have any quotas. You just need a basic knowledge of the Japanese language to take part in Study & Intern Okinawa.
  • You can join Study & Intern Okinawa at the beginning of every month, however, the language classes do not restart every month as they follow the Japanese school year curriculum.
  • All internships are unpaid.

Sightseeing: We have three types - Southern, Central, and Northern Okinawa. Please check Places to Go under the Why Okinawa link.

Cultural activities may include: a beach BBQ, calligraphy class, cultural exchanges with Okinawans, festivals, flower arrangement class, golf, karaoke, karate class, kimono class, Okinawa Dance/Dialect/Music class, playing sports/water sports, private parties, professional sporting events, tea ceremony class, etc.
